SILENT NIGHT
SILENT NIGHT LYRICS
Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in Heavenly peace
Sleep in Heavenly peace
Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from Heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Hallelujah
Christ, the Savior is born
Christ, the Savior is born
Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy Holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth

The Life of Lady Diana (a story in the past)
Try to identify all past tenses in the text
Lady Diana was born in England on July 1st 1961. She weighed 7lb 12oz when she was born. Many different nannies looked after her. One of them hit her with a wooden spoon and another gave her laxatives as a punishment. When she was 6, she went to a boarding school. Shortly afterwards, her parents got divorced. This part of her childhood was not very happy. She was good at swimming and she won the school dancing competition.
She first met Prince Charles in November 1977 when she was 16 years old. Charles came to her house to visit her sister Sarah. Her sister was in love with Charles and they went out together for 6 months. Charles didn't speak very much to Diana because he was more interested in her sister.
In 1980 Diana moved to London and got a job in a kindergarten as a teacher. She shared a flat with some friends. The romance with Prince Charles started when she went to watch him play polo. After the match, they went to a party and they got on well.
The romance between Prince Charles and Lady Diana was in all the newspapers. It was very difficult for Lady Diana because she was not accustomed to the publicity. At first she was very shy in front of the cameras. Prince Charles asked her to marry him and she said yes. They got married on July 29 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral in London.
She had two children: Prince William who was born in 1981 and Prince Harry who was born in 1982. Diana was very popular and she appeared in the newspapers everyday. Unfortunately her marriage was not very happy. Prince Charles had another woman and she didn't get on well with the queen. She had problems with an eating disorder called bulimia and sometimes she was very depressed. Diana did a lot of work to help and comfort people in unfortunate situations such as people with Aids and homeless people. She understood the suffering of other people because she suffered herself. Her relationship with Prince Charles got worse and eventually they divorced in 1996.
She continued to support many charities and other causes such as the campaign to forbid the use of landmines. In 1997 she met Dodi Fayed. For the first time in many years she seemed to be very happy. Unfortunately she died in a car accident on August 31st 1997 in Paris. Millions of people from all over the world watched her funeral. It was very sad.
Now try to write a similar story.

And here are the lyrics for you to sing!!
Yesterday,
All my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why she Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said, Something wrong,
now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Why she Had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say.
I said, Something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm-mm.
